In Mishawaka, 7 black cats were adopted on Black Friday, due in part by the special that was run. The adoption fee (at Petsmart) was only $50, rather than $125. Black cats statistically are not adopted as readily as other cats, so it was good to see success in getting these back cats adopted. If you happen to read this and live in Mishawaka, the special is continuing through the weekend at Petsmart stores.

If you haven't had a chance, there is a great show on Animal Planet called Cats 101
http://animal.discovery.com/tv/cats-101/
Each week they show different breads, and tell you about their personalities and how to take care of them. This TV show is a cat lovers dream come true.

Thanks, everyone.
Sam had his 19th birthday on April 15th.
We've had him an "extra" 5 months now, which is great and more than I expected.
He's not doing too well lately. Sigh.
The downs and the ups and the meds and the vet...
The emotional roller coaster, as it seems like now he's really dying,...no, he's better, no... tearing me up.

So, he is eating and drinking water, a and walking, even up and down the stairs once or twice a day. He's camped out with me in my king size bed, for a few weeks now. I have even given him the night table side for his water.

That's the update.
Glad I finally found my way back here, I've been trying. Thanks, JM, for the link.

i took her to the vet and she increased my puppy's daily dosage of glucosamine and also gave her a perscription of muscle relaxants for when she goes out and plays hard.

she's actually doing much better. she comes on weekly 5-6 mile hikes in the moutains and goes swimming in the lake again. she's still a little sore but she's much happier.

I don't know of any specific products to make her sore joints or muscles feel better...perhaps your vet may have some ideas...

my "puppy" is getting on in her years (13 now) and is really starting to show her age.

when she comes back from a trip to the lake she's very very sore (either her joints or her muscles don't know) and whimps when she walks and has a terrible time going up and down stairs. its very sad.

i don't know if she'll be around come this time next year.

i'm wondering when is it time? and also... what can be done to make her more comfortable when she's feeling sore.
